About the Department

The Department of Sanskrit of Sir Rashbehari Ghosh Mahavidyalaya was established in the year of 2010 and started offering General Course from the session 2011-2012 and Honours Course from the Session 2013-2014. The Department consists of one Assistant Professor and three State-aided College Teachers. It is imparting knowledge of ancient Indian language with the vision to motivate our students for acquiring concepts on Indian Knowledge System with the relevance to the modern time and instill ethical values rooted in Sanskrit.

Presently the department is offering 4year and 3year Major and Minor courses under CCFUP. We maintain a healthy teacher student ratio and continuously asses them for their betterment with the help of student seminars, class tests, group studies, Add-on Courses etc.
